Bacteria

Although bacteria is not needed in systems that are functioning properly, in some cases septic systems that have been neglected and are not functioning properly for one reason or another, do require the addition of bacteria in order to assist the anerobic action in the tank.

Root Killer

If you have a history of roots growing in your sewer or septic lines, a regular treatment with root killer will help prevent continued growth of roots into the line.  Roots block incoming materials and not only cause damage to pipes but can cause back ups into the house as well.

Vent Stack Filters

Downdrafts can produce distasteful sewer gas odors outside the home.  These Carbon Vent Stack filters help diffuse these odors.  Available in 3" or 4", the vent stack filters simply slips over the top of your existing pipe.

Carbon refill packs are available.

 Effluent Filters

The PL-122 was the first filter developed by Polylok. The biggest advantage of this filter is that it has an automatic shut off ball built into every filter. When the filter is removed for regular cleaning, the ball will float up and temporarily shut off the system so the effluent won’t leave the tank. To this day, no other manufacturer can make that claim. It is also rated for 1,500 GPD (Gallons Per Day) and is NSF approved.

Septic Scrub

In some cases, drain fields can be given a second chance.  There are several techniques that have proven useful in giving a plugged drain field some draining capacity, either temporarily or in some instances, for years.  Although we can never guarantee the success of a chemical treatment process, we have used the addition of septic scrub to failing systems over the years with good success.   After the system has been pumped down and allowed to dry out a bit, the treatment typically consists of adding the chemical to the drainage area over the course of a week.

Septic Scrub is designed to break down waste that has accumulated in the soil absorption area and allow the soil to accept greywater once again, as it is designed to do.
