The Scoop on Poop

The idea for writing The Scoop on Poop was originally to simply help educate our customers.  So many people move to Montana and have not lived with a septic system.  We felt it our responsibility to help teach our customers the pros and the cons of living on septic.

Because we've always approached our business with as much of a sense of humor as possible (it helps take away the "ickiness" of it all) the idea of a glamorous looking person, talking about such a distasteful subject quickly became an eye catcher.

I got the idea while looking at a newspaper one day and noticing that the pictures of those real estate agents, weren't always their present day reality...

I had the thought, "I wonder if sexy can sell poop"... it sells everything else.  With this brain fart (the first of many to come), I embarked upon the idea of the "It's Not Glamourous But Somebody's Gotta Do It" ad campaign.  And, because we couldn't afford to hire a model at the time, I dug through my archives to find the look I was trying to acheive and here you have it, my "oldie" but goodie.

If it was okay for realtors and beauticians, it was okay for me.  Soon after the "It's Not Glamourous" ads appeared, customers began asking Chuck (my husband) where that girl in the ad was, when he came to their door to offer our services.  We knew we had hit a niche now.

Although it has costs us a MINT over the years, we have enjoyed offering this much needed information to you in the form of "The Scoop on Poop", so that you can avoid costly mistakes.

As you read, keep in mind that these articles were written over a period of time beginning in June of 2001.  If you get through the following articles, you will know as much about poop as I do!

Happy Reading.
